Ok, good to know, but those were not likely the free range stags? From what they told me, the free range are on average 280" - 320" and an occasional up to 360". If those were the high fence animals you were hunting they may be not as difficult as free range.

I would love to know how your hunt went. I'm going with Algar next year in peak roar for red stag. I am going for free range only. I'm wondering how tough the hunt is because my 10 year old wants to come with me. I'll be rifle hunting.

I will be hunting with Algar in late March next year. I was wondering how tough the hunting is for free range red stag. I went with TGB Outfitters this year and was successful, but it was a very tough hunt and only saw 2 stag all week.
