    Short Action Elk Rifle

I agree with many of the above comments; .308 with quality bullets and good shot placement is more than adequate for elk. 7-08 will do it too, but is a touch light for my tastes. That said, I shot exactly one cow elk with a .243 when I was a kid and it worked just fine, but shot placement was...

    Pre 64 375 H&H AI

I snagged it for my dad to take to Africa after buff next year. Think I'll find a set of 30mm rings and put on something with lume in the 1-8x range, to that end. Otherwise, leaving it as-is!

Rifle received and very much as described. @ftothfadd is a gentleman of the first order and was a pleasure to deal with.

Great read. Thank you for sharing. I'm looking to do a buffalo and croc trip next year, so this is especially engaging for me!

    Pre-64 Winchester 70 375 H&H

Dale Goens built some fine rifles. I would bet this thing is smoking accurate. GLWS!

Freedom Arms Premier Grade Model 83

IMO the perfect configuration and caliber for a FA revolver. Good luck with your sale!

    Stalking safety

Of course it's possible. Like anything else, it's a feature that requires the user to practice its use until it becomes second nature, which one should do with any dangerous game rifle. I'd say it's analogous to having a 3-position safety on a bolt rifle, which I've never heard anyone describe...

    Aimpoint T2 with mount

Respectfully, with your first post in almost 14 years being something for sale at below market price, you're going to have to earn some trust here. It seems to me like another dormant account may have been hijacked.

    Stalking safety

I was picking my tired brain trying to remember the terminology you had used. Bolted safety, not stalking safety. It's a wonderful feature, particularly so as parts may wear and safeties may disengage more easily with time and use.

    Stalking safety

Thanks! It's one of my favorite things, truly a fine rifle. I acquired it from a forum member. Great to see that other makers have used a similar setup. I was unaware that stalking safeties existed until I bought the Lancaster, but it's a feature I really appreciate for a rifle meant for...

    Copper bullets

I have used the 160 CX in a 7 PRC on plains game in Africa, loaded by me to 2950 FPS in a 20" barrel. I used it to take a nice bushbuck and a baboon. My dad used it for zebra, impala, warthog, kudu, springbuck, black wildebeest, etc. We both had excellent results at a variety of ranges, from...
