I have no desire to go up against a grizzly with anything but to be one state away! 44 Mag revolver with 44 Mag loads as a back-up. However, although not used, it does have a 44-40 conversion cylinder. Marlin 1894CB 44-40, loaded with 240gr lead bullets @ 1,400fps, zeroed in for 100 yards...

Maybe it can handle the 44-40 High Velocity loads. Does the body good at 265 yards 44-40 High Velocity Loads...since 1903!

Hope the 44-40 build works out. Glad to see more interest in this great cartridge.
