The One Piece of Gear You Didn’t Know You’d Need in Africa

Hello, Muzzle Covers! Whether I'm in an unusually dusty area or not, I always use a muzzle cover to keep rain, dust & debris out of my bore. It only takes a few shots through a dust covered bore to ruin it... so protect your bore with some sort of a muzzle cover.

How do you use QD rings/mounts...if at all?

Hello, Here's an installation tip for those that's not familiar with Warne QD Rings. First, separate the ring half's and clean the threads (run the screws in and out) so all the screws turn freely by fingertips - I personally oil the threads, but I also REDUCE the torque, and no, I don't bend...

    270 Wsm or 270 Wby

Hello, If you're wanting to stay with a .270 or 7mm chambering with more readily available ammo and you need (or simply just want) 150gr. 7mm bullets flying at 130gr. .270 Winchester velocities & trajectories - then the 7mm Rem Mag would be an excellent choice. Then of course, you also have the...

    270 Wsm or 270 Wby

Hello, Since you're open to suggestions, I also recommend the original .270 Winchester Cartridge, especially if cost and (more importantly) being readily available are a concern.

    28 Nosler For Africa

    Cartridges you just hate

Hello, While I don't really hate any particular cartridge, I do have an odd aversion towards short-action cartridges, but only in bolt-action rifles. And I don't care to own any of the Post-1980 designs. However, we own 2 Super Grades chambered for 7mm-08 and we look forward to adding a...

    Win M70 ejector adjustment (CRF-models)

Hello, Somnas, Do NOT modify the Ejector. If anything, you may have too much Extractor Tension, but without having your rifle in front of me, that's impossible to say for sure. However, there is a such a thing as too much extractor tension. Cajunchefray, we just recently (within the last 2...

    GPO Scopes

Hello, We currently own the following GPO Scopes & Binoculars and are more than satisfied with them (and that's coming from someone that's used, installed and looked through many Alpha Brands). In fact, many Alpha binocular owners say GPO has the best eyecups in the business and performance...

Winchester M70 Alaskan, or M70 Safari Express for Crocodile Hunting.

Well said, WyoBull, Plus, the average shooter can't get good, consistent hits (like required for Crocs) under normal range conditions. And I'm NOT calling anyone here an average shooter, I'm just relaying what I see at shooting ranges.
