A coworker of mine brought in a brand new set of these to show me. I'm not big on expandables but these broadheads are VERY sturdy and I was immediately impressed.
Here's a question for the group. What are your thoughts on having your implement of choice in the photo? I.e., rifle, bow, etc... I've seen some photos at one end of the spectrum that are very "sanitized" and only show the animal and the hunter. No opinion on this myself, at least at the moment.
You both make a great point. The only application I'd consider the .340 for would be for long(er) range shots on large game that are NOT Cape Buffalo. I.e., elk, moose, eland, etc...
That is my exact same issue. I've never liked the bolt lift. My gun is now good and broken-in, hunted with for about 5-6 years and the bolt is still very stiff.
I don't want to cause undue worry, but I hunted first week of July 2023 and I just received my trophies a couple months ago. Just under three years. HOPEFULLY that will not be your experience.
To be fair, though, some of that delay was also due to the outfitter.
You'll have to forgive me as my coffee is still kicking in and my cognitive skills as of late are operating at "new dad" level. Maybe this was already made clear in your original post(s), but is there any chance some of these delays are outside of his purview/control? I know having to deal with...
Correct. He and I have been in regular contact, having hunted with the same outfitter and both using SSI. Trying to work through the process together. Both of our experiences are similar to the OP's.
He and I have both used SSI. I wrapped up business with them a couple months ago and he is still currently dealing with them and having similar issues. I wanted to bring this thread to his attention.
