Beretta just bought 30 perent of Ruger stock so now they will take over Ruger

Does Ruger need fixed? They made acquisitions (ie Marlin) the past couple years, and have had struggles like every other brand during inflation. All mfg are depressed right now. Ruger isn't teetering on insolvency. I don't see Beretta helping any more than CZ is helping Colt or Dan Wesson.

The shareholders would need to approve a poison pill exception, before a tender could be made.

Getting into the handgun hunting game. 500 S&W

Great fun! My question would be... "Matters for what?" Most factory revolvers are questionable. Accuracy is a product of how precisely the cylinders were cut, how tight they are, and how questionable was the barrel fit, and if the bullets match the bore (I've slugged many revolvers, and they...

PRS style shooting bags, like the Armageddon Gear Game Changer or Schmedium, and the Bison Tactical Udder bags on top of sticks (or tripod) are very good. Underfill a little and they self mold themselves around expedient supports and your hand. Hard to beat on logs, shooting sticks, knees...

The “Three Days Rule” for outfitters, guides, PH’s

I think that is a bit cultural. People are used to getting emails and txt's and hate to ping with more junk messages. I always wonder if it is better to fill an inbox with a thanks for the reply, or let it die (assuming there isn't anything further to elaborate on).

The “Three Days Rule” for outfitters, guides, PH’s

My accidental input is: It is helpful when Outfitters provide contact information for US (or country specific) agents. My agent was far more responsive, not because the Outfitter wasn't... but he was guiding and my agent was available to answer a ton of questions in US timezone.

LOL It really was a great gun at that time to carry on the trapline in winter in November because it didn't weigh anything, and most bears are usually hibernating in November. But, on occasion you'd run into an underfed 2-3yr old or a moose that got sporty. But, honestly a 10mm striker that...

I've shot them both a good bit. The recoil velocity on the 454 is higher, and the recoil energy on the 475 is higher. Translated, the 454 is snappier and the 475 feels more like a solid push. That being said... if say 40 rounds of 454 is your daily tolerance limit, you'll not be doing 120...

Is this typical of the US?

Not just dividend checks... there are entire villages devoted to getting drunk and living on the tit.

I do, and I have an unhealthy amount of brass for it. But, I do put it through its paces more than the average bear. I have a couple thousand pieces of Starline, with the new standard Linebaugh rim cut diameter. At at this point, I've split way more times that in cases. This may seem...

Is this typical of the US?

No, you mean Anchorage, the city closest to Alaska. Alaska is the "right color" to its bones. Kaliforniaian's have have f@cked their state so badly, that they are escaping their "utopia" and taken their politics everywhere west.

Traveling with rifle to RSA - do you need a "fixer"?

My experience, for what it's worth. When the RSA police open the case and start asking questions... having the "fixer" say they are mine... is worth gold. And I went with only a revolver. Pay the man. They, day to day, know more than you.

The "basics" for guns in America

Besides my wife, who after 35 years has beaten a few things into my brain housing group, I've owned so, so many industry guns. But Brothers and Sisters, when you finally get that bespoke gun, or infinitely adjustable comp gun that really truly fits, the lightbulb goes off. Recoil means...

Why does considering never mounting another animal bother me so much?

Considering most meat from most countries is non exportable, remember that hunting is conservation. Unlike the huggers, everything we take goes to hard dollars ensuring animals have more monetary value than people turning the world into apartments and zoos. All you have to verify is your meat...
