I took my Eland using a single shot TC Encore in 300 Win Mag with a 180 grain Nosler Accubond. Front shoulder and piled up. I would think shot placement over caliber with anything 30-06 and above.

Heat, then potentially a Dremel cutoff wheel to cut a slot in the screw head then use a flat blade screwdriver to get some torque on the stuck screw after heating it. If needed put some vice grips on the shank of the screwdriver for more torque.
