Some photos:
It is a dream to shoot. I'm taking this rifle to the Northern Territory in August to take a trophy Asiatic Buffalo. I have some 400gr Spoor Bullets on the way from South Africa for this hunt but will be practicing with my ample supply of Woodleighs in the meantime.
I am fortunate enough to own one of these issued in 1910, engraved with Gaur. I'll put up photos when I can - I'm shooting it today in a Big Game Rifle comp.
I've been saying "no more guns" for 2 years but have added at least 6 since then. I need to start using the 20+ that I have and not look at gun sales sites. :X3:
Cape Barren Geese on Flinders Island in Bass Strait between Tasmania and mainland Australia in the second week of January - a first for me - tick
New Zealand South Island with my son Tom for Chamois, Himalayan Tahr, Red Deer last 2 weeks of April - booked.
Victorian Alps second week of June...
1 in 7 twist 223REM with 70gr Barnes - perfect for Tiny 10.
I shot a monster Steenbok in AUG 2025 with my Sako L61 in 30-06 with 165gr Woodleigh bullets - because that's what I had in my hand when the dainty little antelope was sighted.
Jeremiah Johnson is the greatest movie ever. I have always had a 50 cal Hawken percussion rifle in my collection. My Dad gave me one for Christmas when I was 15.
