My GOD that's a BIG lion. Judging from the photo it appears to be taken well before the advent of camera-phones with fish-eye lenses, so no optical distortion here! It would be very interesting to know who the hunter was, and where it was taken.
Years ago, White Hunter Tony Archer guided American Huntress Helen Kleburg to a monster lion in Botswana. Special effort was expended to bring a scale to camp, and the carcass was cut up into manageable pieces to be weighed. The total . . an astounding 598 pounds! The lion in the above photo seems to be of a similar weight class!
