Hi There,

I've just joined up, as like many, I am looking to hunt in Africa for the first time next year. The site seems to have much to offer and some great people.

I live in NSW and mainly hunt deer. I have also hunted other game throughout Australia, NZ and Canada. I mainly rifle hunt but I am building confidence with my bow and plan to hunt with it this year.

I also enjoy fishing and spear fishing when I get the chance.

I've got a lot to learn but have already gleaned a lot of great info from this site. I look forward to hopefully contributing where I can.

Cheers,
JWB300

Welcome to AH!

Thanks for the warm welcome lads!

Bluey - I have been chatting with Marius from KMG lately as I have heard good reviews of his operation.

For this trip I will probably hunt plains game in SA. I have a wish list... Gembok, Eland, Kudu, Zebra, Warthog and Springbok. I don't expect to take everything but I'm happy to go along and see what pops up. I don't think there is such a thing as one trip to Africa so the next trip I would like to hunt Giraffe and maybe Buff and Croc. Such a shame we can't hunt crocs here.

marius is a good choice , KMG have has had some excellent reports on here .he comes across as a bit of a larrikin , im shore you get your list , as he hunts hard ,
and stands by his word .........
yeah the crocs here would be awesome to hunt , im going to try for a croc this September , at takeri (Zambia) if they can get the permits .
with my bow .if not im hoping a blue duiker will be on the menu
and your spot on with , theres never just one trip to Africa .......

Welcome JWB, always good to see more hunters from Down Under here.

Best of luck with your planning and prep, which for me is always half the fun in most trips.
Good looking Goat in your Avatar there (y)

Thanks guys - will no doubt be tapping into the wealth of knowledge here soon!

JWB300,

Welcome! Africa is a great place to hunt with your bow....Especially if you are just starting out as a bow hunter. Africa provides the #1 ingredient for successful bow hunting.... Lots of opportunity!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
