CZECH REPUBLIC: Great Combo Hunt In Czech Republic

Thanks I really enjoyed it. The European hunting traditions are pretty cool too. The ceremony of it with the last meal in its mouth, another branch in the hunters hat then the playing of the horn then the display of the trophy to the estate. They show the animal a lot of respect, I found it all very interesting.

Thanks for the great posting.

sounds like a great trip.

now that's a cracker fallow deer hitch ...

That is Awesome, What dreams are made of Congrats on some fantastic trophies.

Excellent !

Those are indeed fine trophies sir. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats for a great hunt and very good trophies, I have a couple of mouflons and a fallow deer, but not in that league !

Great report and glad you appreciated the European traditions. As a American living in Slovakia I have found the traditions and ceremony around the hunt to be absolutely great. I am familiar with Jan's outfitting service and everything I heard is that it is first class. You bagged some really great trophies and make sure to bring the wife next time. Prague is one of the great city's of Europe and definitely worth seeing.

wow , after reading that whole report l wanna get there ,and try for one of them fallow crossed moose , the sheep looks great to and that heavy heavy sika is a brute.
gret write up Derek , can tell there some big respect for the whole adventure , in your writing ,mate .

That's is one hell of a pair of antlers on that Sika. For comparison in the thumbnail is a gold medal in the centre and two silvers left and right. Well done !

Gorgeous Sika. I didn't go there looking for them but was instantly a fan. they are beautiful creatures. You have a whole wall of want there lol. Roe is way high on my list.

Couldn't agree more on all counts. With what I have seen here at times many here could use more traditions and respect.

Thanks Bluey. Your like me... easily distracted by shiny objects (mostly shiny horns) lol. :)

@Diamondhitch

If/when you go back to the Czech Republic, would you take your bow? As part of my punishment/payback for booking my Namibia hunt, my wife says I have to take her to Europe by 2019. I'm thinking some time in Prague and bagging a Mouflon while I'm there would be excellent. Maybe even attend a MotoGP race, if the timing is right.
I definitely prefer to hunt with my bow, but I know nothing about the Czech Republic.

Thanks,
WK

Congrats on a fantastic hunt, I have been invited later this year on a trip, but can't make it, will definitely go next year. The prices are great.

Congrats on a great hunt and thank you for the report- I really like that fallow buck! I'll be hunting one of those in NZ next year!

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
