Does anyone know if there is a scope base for a Browning BLR that will take Ruger rings? I would like to switch a scope from my Ruger No.1.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get another scope for the BLR?
You would need to make adjustments to the scope anyway...

Neither rifle is used that much. Should not take much to re zero. I have a nice 1x4 Leopold fire dot for them.

Never heard of one. I’ve seen a picatinny base on a BLR but nothing that would adapt a ruger ring to one. I’ve got a pile of ruger rings in a drawer because I’m not fond of them. No real reason behind it but I like the Alaska arms rings so much more on the rugers and warne rings on most everything else.

Maybe mount picatinny on both and go from there.

Ditto that.... seems like they send a pair with every Ruger I buy...

I'm very interested in seeing how to mount a picatinny rail on a Ruger M77, without drilling it. If anyone knows and has pics, please share.

Bob it a Ruger No.1. The M77 wouldn't work as the rings are different height. I just thought maybe someone made a River base.

Best I could do was this slick ass custom Mini-14 mount.

As long as it holds zero I’d give it a shot.

At least on the newer Rugers, the rings are crappy. On two occasions, I have discarded the new Ruger rings (I think they are in my safe) and replaced them with Leupold, and so far they have never had to be adjusted.

Never thought about welding a base on the blr

My buddy broke his neck and couldn’t make a cheek weld on the stock any longer. He shot a BLR in 7 RM so we drove into Missoula, MT to the Gunsmith for some brain storming. We ended up with a custom built receiver mount that set the scope almost two inches off the centerline of the barrel to compensate for the way he had to shoot. Moral of the story is never give up, if there is a will, there’s a way!

It's was a bad idea. Even if I found a base. I would still have to loosen the rings to go on a different length action.

Wow thanks! Just what I needed. Honestly didn't think it existed.
Bob, have one of those rails on my 6.5 Creedmoor. I really like it. He doesn't recommend it for heavy calibers, but I haven't had any major issues. Did have one of the base screws back out on me but I never snugged them back up after mounting and shooting some rounds through it which is something I always try to do. So I put that one on me.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,
