I'm off to Limpopo at the end of the month and by all the forecasts it is going to be hot 88F. It has been colder that a witches tit here, just the kind of weather I was hoping for to go hunting. Looks like any hopes I had about snakes hiding in their holes to avoid the cold just went out the window. Crap

July and aug to make sure them dam snakes are away and hiding. Have always woke up to nice cold morning and very happy about that.
Good luck with the hunt though it will still be better the working.

It sounds like a friend of mine. When ever we go hunting in snake country he sees them all over and he is deathly scared of them. Me on the other hand can't find one to even take a picture of and they don't bother me.

A few years ago while hunting in Arizona in the spring time I found a rattlesnake den. My friend has only hiked into that canyon one time since that den of snakes have been found. He will take a half mile deter to stay away from it where I will hike into it every year just to get some new pictures.

I'm headed out in 3 weeks and while I won't be looking for those long skinny things I will be on the look out for them.

Good luck on your hunt.

i like snakes and am always trying to find them but never have any luck. seems like you have to hate snakes for them to show themselves!

A very bad day hunting is way better than a good day working

88F is hot?

depends on your point of reference. Today the high was 46F here

I'm quite certain the overnight low was at 10 degrees warmer than that in Phx.

it is going down to 32 tonight, snow flurries tomorrow. Where is Global warming when you need it

You are out of luck for "cold" in May in Limpopo. At least our cold.
Don't pick up any squishy sticks.

I was hoping for Eastern Cape weather like I had last May. Oh well this could be my first hunt in shorts.

Bring LOTS of water with you every time you leave the truck.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
