AH fanatic
Every year in TANZANIA the 1st of July is the beginning of the hunting season.
I am leaving on June 26 and like everytime, as a hunter I am excited !!!
It reminds me, some years ago before I became a PH, I was much younger !!!! 2 or 3 days before THE DAY, in France or in Africa I was cleaning madly my rifles, shotguns, hunting gears several times a day !!!! buying new clothes and so on...I did the same some days ago, I am not as mad as some times ago but still, I cleaned my 450 Rigby, fired a few round at the range, I practiced on clay pigeon with my 5 shots back up shotgun and I trained myself more than before.... my gears; GPS, maps, sat phone, radios, knifes, amo belt, flash light, medecine are checked and packed..... I feel ready and strong for the 120 non stop hunting days coming...
The only unknown thing is, how is the elephant population??
You all know the ban of importing elephant trophy in US (what a mistake). On the last 11 of June, the Wildlife Conservation Foundation of Tanzania, organized a ''Diner de Gala'' in Paris to get some money to fight against the poaching in Tanzania.
President Valery Giscard d'Estaing, Prince Charles Antoine de Ligne, John Jackson from conservation force and 150 guests were all involved for this cause and what the foundation is doing. It is indeed a great job in collaboration with the goverment and the Wildlife minister. I believe so much on hunting for conservation that I hope on day the green NGO will work with us to save the African Wildlife......
Well, I feel privileged to go there and guide hunters in the vastness of the Selous and Maasailand.
Here is a link of a video of TANZANIA, WITH MY EYES...
Talk and share some more footage and pictures in a while.
