Ok how many you guys take the same animals on your second trip to SA

An client/friend spoke true words to me 10 years ago he said that one can never have enough Kudu or Buffalo, we have since taken 11 Kudu together and 9 Buff together,........... little did I know how serious he was when he uttered those words to me... :).

He will be returning to do another Buff this year, gues its all about what you enjoy doing once you have harvested pretty much everything it is quite clear what he's addicted to, :)

My best always.

I am leaving in april to Northern Cape. This will be my third trip to South Afrfica. The first time in Limpopo I took kudu, blesbok, impala, steenbok, and some wharthogs. Second time in Northern Cape I took zebra, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, gemsbok, steenbok, springbok and mountain reedbok.
And now i am looking for duiker, eland, black wildebeest, waterbuck, and I will repeat springbok, mountain reedbok and wharthog. So I am looking for new animals and repeating some.
I think I am not a collector of animals, but a collector or memories, so I do not mind repeating animals if they bring me fair chasse and good memories.
Thanks,

Jose

Though I've only been on one safari there are certain animals that I consider "supreme targets of opportunity". I can't explain why but I'm seriously attracted to Steenbok and Duiker.

But I'd sure not turn down a 55" + kudu!

I don't think better words could have been said, Nice one Jose.

Dont get me wrong the want is there to take the animals again. It is the $$$$$$ that are not there to take them and still take one of all the others I want to try for.To me a kudu stalk is as fun as it gets and they are great animals. But for me to find out if hunting a bushbuck maybe as fun I may need to pass on one to try another.

You better be careful bushbuck hunting is addictive too (lol).

This is an interesting subject to me, because I am going on my second Safari to Kanana with Jason Bridger, the same place that I went on my first Safari to in August of last year. I am also going on the same package deal as my first one was, although I modified it and will modify the second one as well.

I kinda got carried away on my first trip and probably will on the second one, but I intend to upgrade where possible and add some species and trade a couple for ones that I didn't take originally.

I have a pretty well mapped out plan but as we all know, you can throw it out the window when you get to Africa cause it just does that to you!

I think having a plan can wreck a hunt, I have watched people pass animals that were not in the plan only to talk about it later like the hunt wasn't a full success because they "had" to pass because you shot another one.
I've been ridiculed about doubling up...but it felt so right.

This is exactly why my list is always wayyyy longer than my trip will allow. When shopping for groceries I stick to my list and pick up every single item. I hope hunting is never as easy or boring as grocery shopping.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
