You know what would be great? If you could wear your binox around your neck over your shoulder and swung around to the back where they could clip onto your belt on the backside. All it would take would be a clip of some sort. Hmmmmm Somebody could make some money designing such.

Anyway, the REAL reason for this new thread: Who carries their binoculars with dust caps on (all 4 ends protected)? I can't see not wanting to, but I CAN see the incredible hassle of taking them off, putting them back on, especially in a hot hunting moment.

Thoughts?

Well there is a system, that you just put your binocular into a soft case that hangs by your chest when your not using them. You could still have the binoculars attached to your shoulders.

Still like over the shoulder with a LONG leather strap and the glass at my left hip - never seen an improvement. I use the top covers on my Swarovski's. I attach them with a small leather tie to the strap so they aren't lost. I do not run the strap through the slots because it is a pain to constantly slide the covers up and down the strap.

l carry my burris binos on a bra ,its good but im thinking of upgrading to a badlands bino case much like enysee is talking about

with the bino bra I use the cup covers on eye piece as they lay flat on my midsection with the eye cups facing up
its a real pain in the rain .
they can bump and make niose when running ,with the bino bra on , I just have hold them flat with my right hand and keep the firearm in my left hand while covering quick ground .

enysse - Know what you mean. See my other thread on this subject.

Red Leg - Actually, your system is what I was getting at above, only with the addition of some kind of clip to secure them to the side or back of your belt. Do you find just swinging them there is good enough to securely keep them there without them "falling" back and swinging in front?

bluey - Yeah, that's actually what I'm in the market for (see other post I directed enysse to). Do you have a particular brand that looks to be best? I'd appreciate knowing what it is as I am HOT to order a good rig.

Many Thanks, Gents - Adam12

I don't have a model number for it adam but its a badlands bino case
im thinking of getting one to try
the bras or harness are good but , the binos lenses end up wet of cakes in crap if you don't use the eye caps
but on the down side the case is bulky and smack bang in the middle of your chest
and l don't know if it pop open if you run , I believe the closes via magnets

Red Leg,

I am 100% with you on this one.

I have no problem with them sliding around. In a low crawl, I slide them to the small of my back, which is a heck of a lot easier than having them pinned to my chest.

Attached is a link to a new solution I recently stumbled across. Not bouncy and held close to body. Completely encloses binocs and protects lenses. I am eagerly anticipating it's arrival.

That's exactly the bino carrier I used in Namibia about a month ago. High quality stuff.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
