It appears there is an eye witness account of a follow up hunt on a wounded Lion conducted by helicopter in the Non Hunting Buffer Zone between Mana Pools and Nyakasanga Hunting Area earlier this month - can anyone verify the account of the use of a helicopter for the follow up of a wounded lion shot in the Nyakasanga Hunting Area. It appears a helicopter carrying the hunter was used to flush out a wounded lion shot the previous day in an area commonly referred to as Paradis - a number of shots fired from the helicoped eventually killed the lion which was flushed out of thick bush with the use of a siren mounted on the helicopter.

Sounds like a fish story to me.
I await the evidence....

Probably be a South African blamed again.... :) I find it fishy too

Sounds like something the anti's would put out.

100% False! According to Louis Muller the ZPHGA Chairman who has the Rifa Concession next door.
The use of aircraft to drive or spot game from is highly illegal within a National Parks Estate. It'd go round like wildfire if it did happen.
Where'd you get your info from Dononde?

This story is 100% false. the hunting party was over 120 clients. A helicopter was used to transport the main Client and his family only. Generally when a hunting party is 120 strong, someone can afford a helicopter. At no point was the helicopter used over the area for any viewing or spotting of game or for any follow up of the Lion. A lion was wounded and found dead on the follow up by the Ph's on foot. This has been investigated by ZPHGA and verified. The questions is why is this posted? Is there concern for the Lions well being, or what exactly is the point of posting this on an open forum? If we hunters are to protect our industry, then we need to start by making sure we don't feed the social media monster with "apparently, reportedly, we believe , eyewitness reports(no name)" rumors. The hunting world is small enough to get to the facts rather fast by asking the correct people or associations first. Hopefully this is the last post on this topic.

Can anyone clear it up? was the question and it took exactly 27 hours to get the job done. Thanks Louis.

The responses gave zero credence to this nonsense and you settled it.

I'm getting more and more suspicious of some of the postings we're getting on our forum. I see Dononde is a member since August 2013, but this is the first post. Hmmm, don't get it.

I think it's better that he airs his thoughts and ask questions here than on open forums like FB and get corrected before it gets into a 'viral' bs story! At least there's rational thinking and discussion going on here!....well most of the time anyhow!:A Camping:

Thanks for the clarification regarding the incident.

You can hunt a vorpal bunny using something as small as a Lott if you want, but I wouldn't do it myself.

EXACTLY! I though about suggesting that if Royal had followed proper big bore addict protocols ... 458 lott being just about right for blue duiker ... he would have never gotten into a debate about whether he hit the duiker (but it was obviously too early to suggest during the actual conversation ... hopefully it is not too early now :)!!!!). He might have debated if he needed pay if it vaporized at 10 yards, but he would have known if he hit it!!!!

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
