Hello All!

Got my shipment of plains game trophies last December from my summer 2012 plains game hunt in Limpopo. Along with the mounts and zebra rug, I received a variety of backskins - impala, gemsbuck, kudu, eland, waterbuck, hartebeest, wildebeest, bushbuck and nyala (no backskin on the warthog). They're all obviously varying sizes, shapes and textures.

I'm wondering what are some your ideas/suggestions for uses (sofa cushions, large quilt are a few of mine). Photos would be awesome as well!!

Thanks.

my plan is to have my picture frames which will have the animal pic and SCI award card in it covered with that animal skin.

My wife loves the Pillow and Rug approach - and does the work herself. She's crafty like that. :)

Other thoughts would include rifle slings, belts, wallets, etc.

Wildebeest or a combination of various skins makes for good looking gun bags, pillows are always a nice touch as well...

I have two pedestals and the panels were filled in with wildebeest and impala respectively....

Pictures to follow.

My best always.

Poster size your pics and use as a cover for the frames. They also look nice as a backdrop to a picture collage.

I like the gun bag idea .........

we're gonna have a wingback chair done with zebra or wilderbeest. possibly some zebra/leather throw pillows for the couch.

Those are some awesome ideas! Any pics?

I do a little leather work. So I made rifle cases out of some back skins

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
