Hello from the Peoples Communist Republic Of Illinois

Welcome to AH, Woody!
Please, don't exaggerate tour problems. If declare that Illinois is a Communist republic, whta can say a poor European (or, worst, a Brit) about her/his Country?
You can possess as many guns as you like, handguns are not forbidden and I may continue for ages.
In France and Britain private shooters and hunters are forbidden to posses pistols. In Europe the max gage for shotguns is 12 , i.e. 10 ga. is forbidden.
Look for some other shoulder to weep on, as ours are wet and aching for humidity.
Fair point, but as far as America goes our freedoms here are more limited than most. I don't know how you guys do it in Europe. You have my sympathies. I can't imagine having few rights than I do now

I don’t think Illinois is bad at all. Especially if you are away from the liberals(Chicago).
It certainly has its flaws, but it’s my home.
The gun laws are pretty relaxed, (away from Cook County) suppressors being illegal is the big one.
Taxes are somewhat high, but not terribly considering some things are not taxed.
Vehicles do not need to be inspected to be road legally. This leads to lots of dual strait pipe exhausts on 25 year old trucks for high schoolers.
Hunting is cheap for the locals.
Rednecks are easy to find.
It’s a good place.
That's the problem, you can't get away from Chicago. They run the place no matter where you live. Taxes are high and the state is run like crap. And the state does emissions tests and won't let you renew your registration if it can't pass. And you can't hunt deer with a rifle. Thats why I hunt in Missouri and Arkansas.

I have never been emission tested. Or anything for that matter.
I feel that I am plenty far enough from Chicago.

They make you every few years after your car is a few years old. I am too, but I want suppressors dammnit haha

Nobody in liberal Europe is tested for emissions. Farthing is not forbidden by law.

Shaking hand to my dear comrade from a Cap-Communisim China

Привет товарищ!
Don't complain with us. Just think that in this part of Europe we pay each year €173,166 ($182) for the shotgun/rifle licence. I may continue for ages, boring everybody and increasing my rage.
You live in a happier place, believe me.

The way the government here continues to abrogate the 2nd amendment we will be there in a few years. It's shameful what Americans have let them get away with.

Welcome to AH, comrade .

Hi I'm Woody from Illinois. Thanks for having me. I've not yet been to Africa but I want to in a few years when my son is old enough to hunt. We mostly go turkey/ waterfowl hunting now. And I have a few pig hunts lined up for this year also.
Woody
Welcome to a great Forum.
Enjoy the planning process of a safari to Africa. It will be very special since it would be a father and son safari.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
