Pretty.....nice backdrop as well.

Stunning looking double Zephyr ! Boy, they really knew how to build them "back in the day", didn't they ? Strolling along the trail would surely feel good with that baby cradled on the crook of one's arm ! Cost being long forgotten.

Hate to say it I bought that double in the early 90's for under $10K, when doubles were just getting popular and 450's were still on the back shelf.
It's coming to your neck of the woods in Aug for a Buff Cull Hunt :D

yup zephyr i remember back then looking at .450s and 450/400s at sci and they were $8,000 to $9000 ,some less as nobody wanted them, only .470s were just taking off then and they were cheap then as well.......ahhhh hindsight ! at least you bought one then unlike me who decided to wait till the prices had risen......................

Zephyr, that rifle is a steal at twice the price you paid !

I too remember those days...... but was too thick to see the writing on the wall.

I know of guys that halled back loads of doubles from India, before the ban, and made big money.

Very best of luck on your hunt, I do hope you enjoy your stay in our country.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
