My wife and I are spending a few days in Cape Town before our safari this upcoming spring. I'm looking for some hotel advice from those who have been there before.

I am looking for it to be affordable but also close to all of the tourist activities.

I'd avoid the Hotels and look for a good B&B. Better service and more personalised. Your host will know all the 'in' spots and how to get you there (and where not to go).

Google

I stay in Camps Bay which has a beach restaurant culture overlooking the south Atlantic and last trip rented a car which is uber cheap. You can also rent a car and driver for less than a car rental costs at home. They deliver and pick up at your accomodation.

We stayed here AfriCabana Guesthouse before moving on to more modest accomodation closer to Kloof Nek. Africabana maybe a bit expensive but was very nice.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
