Got a new string and had bow gone over for trip coming up.Grouping good at 20 yds so far. Also went to some 340 Easton fmj to get another 25 grains of weight to my arrow.Kids bow is getting done now and he is up to pulling 60lbs with no problem.

Very nice Bill!

No one gets more bang for the buck out of a trip than you. That's for sure!! :)

The kids 3 and 4th arrows at 30 yards ever.He is doing great at 20 and on his way to getting the 30yd down real fast.He keeps shooting like he is I may let him try and take his eland with his bow.The eland is his dream animal right now with his bow or muzzlerloader.

guess I should have posted the pic

One day I'm gonna have to get a bow!!!!

Need more rifles first though, especially a muzzie! :)

That would be a really dead eland. :)

I told you just go hunt elk once with a bow in sept. you will be hooked for bow hunting after that.

I know....

Right now I just dorn have the time. Did get drawn for first combined rifle in CO, so will be hunting with my Uncle and both cousins in October. My wife just figured out how much vacation I'm taking without her. Hehehe....

Hunting Elk in the rut with my bow is very high on my bucket list and I hope I will be able to do that in a not so distant future.

I hope you and your kid will have a great hunt in Africa and I am very much looking forward to your report.

Elk hunting the rut is as bad as going to Africa. You will not go just once if you hit the rut right.Nothing like hearing a big bull bugling and going crazy as you try and call him in.You ever need some ideas on who to talk to you let me know.

I am hoping I will have a nice long report maybe will even do a few short ones at night if we have service.

Good luck on your hunt.

I agree, calling critters period up close and personal is awesome. I just retired my 17yr old Mathews Z-Max and bought a Hoyt Factor. I felt like a traitor buying the Hoyt but it just felt so much better I had no choice in the matter. :D I hope to take a big moose with it this fall and maybe even take it to Africa someday since I am finally over my target panic after a near 10 year archery hiatus. (y)

I am just glad kudu dont bugle like elk I would think about moving then.
I almost got my son a faktor for this trip but decide to use that money for more trophy fees.

IF YOU DON'T COME UP WITH ANY .458, I WILL TRY AND GET MY KID TO PACK SOME UP FOR YOU BUT PROBABLY WOUDN'T BE TILL THIS WEEKEND AND GO OUT NEXT WEEK.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
