President Sata of Zambia has died

Wonder what effect that will have on general stability and the future of hunting.

there is a 90 day period to prepare for new elections... hopefully all stays stable these few months.
if a new ruling party is elected, the ministers and all will be changed, if that happens we can only hope that the new min for tourism will not mess with things.

yep and in mourning, i am heading out to Takeri to be respectful to all involved ;)(y)

Hopefully new ministers will see the value in improving tourism of all kinds

That would be ideal CAustin, at the moment the majority focus of tourism is Luangwa and Livingstone, it would be nice to see a bit of interest in other parts of the country that are pretty attractive.
I'm just hoping that i get a tar road to my place... one day...

The anxiety of a long wait.

Posturing will have begun to see who will be the new president or leading party.

A lot could be gained or loss in the next few months... Lets just hope it all stays relatively peaceful.

Mike/Pete/Others in the know,

What are the chances that Scott will win the election for president?

Might be interesting following the politics of Zambia the next few months.

All the best.

i'm sick of the dirt road! my old man drove up yesterday, 13hrs drive in total.

i'm heading up there next thursday, if all is not calm at least we will be safe there, too much effort for anyone to reach us there!

Wheels, its quite doubtful
firstly, he does not really have a following
secondly, his parents were scottish born, so (i think) he does not qualify. he can stand in as acting president but may not be elected as president

wheels have you read the 2nd link in my original post?

Thanks for the info.

I skimmed the first article and posted the question.

Should have read all the articles prior to sticking my foot in my mouth.......it won't be the last time.

Hope things work out well for those of you that have a vested interest.

All the best.

Just when you think things are getting better.................

I hope the sane people survive.

Sane people? Feel free to point them out... They will be few and far between. :ROFLMAO:
Take this lot for example
http://www.lusakatimes.com/2014/05/24/green-party-will-stop-campaign-legalization-marijuana/ o_O
http://www.lusakatimes.com/2014/04/07/green-party-legalise-cultivation-marijuana-export-market/

So in short if he gets elected, you will find Zambian marijuana "improving" the lifestyles of many americans.

Whilst all this nonsense is going on in gov, its business as usual for everyone else. Seems the people have become accustomed to this craziness and are simply waiting for it to die down or implode.

Gotta love african politics...:ROFLMAO:

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
