I have this rifle since 1985 and have used it twice in Africa. It was manufactured 1910/11 for a Brittish officer posted in Nigeria and eventualy sold to a Swedish merchant ship captain. After hus death on the 80’s his widow gave it to an auction house. It is a boxlock with ejectors and rifling in very goid shape. It was serviced at William Evans premises before I shot with it and has thereafter been fired 20 -30 shots ( 2 safaris and some shots at a shooting ground); both barrels shoot 1-2 inch apart at 100m with
Kynoch Cordite ammo of which I have est 240 round; 40-50 are solids. With Frderal and Norma ammo the rifle also shoots very well.
Weight of rifle slightly over 5kg (11 lbs?); barrel length 28”. Action is tight.
Reason for selling is mainly my age (77) and even though I still hunt ; it is mainly in Europe for which
the 470 is not ideal…..
The gun has a leather case (not original) and a nice metal case for air transport.
Price incl the ammo USD 17 K. Possible trasport costs for the buyer.
