Thank you for your very informative message. Sustainable development is a success when it conservation is applied holistically to all aspects of the environment. It is an undisputed fact that a ban in hunting tourism will have a big effect on the economies and social development of the local people.
There are a lot of comparisons that can be undertaken between hunting and non-hunting communities. The economic and social injection that a 'hunting client' brings to the community is of vital importance. One is brought to attention to 'CAMPFIRE' areas of Zimbabwe and may argue that during the time of flourishing sustainable hunting; the population of game was sustainable, there was less human-wildlife conflicts due to environmental compromises, social development standards in the rural areas were high as a result of infrastructure development, educational scholarships and employment among others. However due to the 'Period of Madness', there has been reduced hunting in these areas and the results have not been glorious for both humans and wildlife. Poaching, loss of habitats, reduction in game population subsequently Poverty is a reality in most of these areas.
The sustainability that safari hunting brings, help to conserve nature, protect biodiversity and empower local communities as a whole.
The 'Mantra' that 'If it Pays it Stays' is an undeniable fact and the life learn evidence is available for everyone's perusal. Hunting is Conservation.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
