The detail work on the rocky outcrop for the Leopard and the dry riverbed below the Lion is wrapping up. This detail work is time consuming but truly amazing and worth the wait.

Cornelius Vanderbilt's house farther E. on the N. shore of LI is like a museum collection (it's now a museum and park.) As he was involved in many world explorations, the place is just full of "souvenirs!") You can hit all of these and more in a day or weekend trip. You can avoid NYC via the N. (287, Whitestone Br.) approach.

These spaces wow me my whole life. You would be escorting me out as I could ask questions and talk stories for days in there. Would unfold my cot in center.

A room like yours is what sparked my hunting fire, as a kid dad and I hunted local birds, but when we were invited to the farms property owner for a party, I was awed and dreams were ignited. His room was like yours, the story from his son telling me he shot his first ele when he was 12 woke me up. I was 10 and could not imagine. Your room is truly an awesome space, lets hope it does its part creating "fire" in some young impressionable next gen hunters. It is rivalled by few, only one I have seen lately is Hand of Man just down rd from me.

The NY Explorer's club is also an interesting little gem to drop by...It was Peter H. Capstick that revealed some of its fine trophies to us.... i've only posted 1 pic of each-there's MUCH more to see!

'Have trophies in nearly every living space in my house (excepting BRs/BRs/Laundry/Garages.) However, slowly dismantling things to transition up to the farm for semi-retirement. While the house is prepped there, I'll likely clean/treat/hang everything in their proper (elevation) order on the back wall of a 40x60x24 climate-controlled shop. I might charge admission for a peek...lol. I'll likely select my favorite trophies (African, BIG deer) and more sparingly feature them in the retirement home livingroom. I used to always hang a photo or some other artwork related to each hunt at eye level, and the corresponding animals taken above them. This looks Very nice (and also appealing to non-hunters)! The plan was to have a brass placard featuring each place visited, but 'never got that far... Everything is being disassembled currently sadly the mantel was taken down which featured among other things foxes laying down at each end and tiny antelope standing up. I've got some time it will be reassembled in my final resting place LOL more upstairs downstairs and at the farm but nearly all is obscured by boxes...This is what happens when for 2 decades a woman has NO say on home decor. LOL Trophy House?
