I am not going to say to much about this bull; but what I have experienced now is that where you least expect them, might be where you find them.
I have a concession that is just loaded with Bushbuck and Nyala, Abrie Arlow from PRONK SAFARIS in South Africa asked me if I could help him with a Red Duiker and Klipspringer hunt for two of his friends, Bushbuck, Kudu 55+, Nyala and Waterbuck was also on the list but just if the opportunity presented itself. Well the first day the rains came down on us and no Red Duiker or Klipspringer for the day. Late that afternoon we drove down a riverbed looking for Bushbuck and Nyala. I told Abrie that the chance at a 55" + Kudu was very slim in this area.
Well the rest is history.

love the way his tips face out
is that an indication that he is still growing ?

Hi Bluey
The bull was past the time of growing horn, that is just a cool look, in fact I think he has lost about 2" of horn due to his age.

Wow! looks like he was well over 55". Great looking form of the horns!

That really is a cool look! And the ivory just pops at the ends. This guy is more than just long. He has it all.

Congrats!

Thanks CAustin this was a WOW bull, although not 60" it did make it 59 1/2".
Royal27 you are spot on, the shape of those horns is what made me call the shot, I never even looked at him through my binoculars, the moment I saw him I made the call.

Great bull one that dreams are made of.How old do you think he was bossie.

I think I would take him over a red duiker anytime.

Hi billc
Thanks he was special, I think he should have been around 10 to 12 years old.
For sure I agree with you, this kind of bull you might never see again, a Red Duiker you will

The more I look at this Bull the more I realive he would have hurt my marriage. He would have ended up in the living room, where trophies have been banned. :)

Wow, in my eyes the perfect Kudu bull!

Great Bull Bossie, you keep delivering exceptional trophies.

Absolutely beautiful bull. Anyone would be proud to take a great animal like that. Thanks for sharing. Bruce

You can see how that would be near 60 by envisioning going up the curls in 12 inch increments. I have seen pix of other so called 60 plus kudu that I would very much doubt.

Classic kudu shape. Love the hard flares.

Congrats to you and the hunter.

All the best.

Very nice Kudu..

Absolute stunner! The shape is awesome, love that turned out shape and the ivory tips.

Awesome bull. Congratulations to the very lucky hunter.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
