Finally here, after all the weather delays from the eastern seaboard; Georgia,USA
waited 3 weeks:rant: It's a 1909 Cavalry Carbine in 7.65x53, still need to clean cosmoline out
of the action, and take some pics, also have an M24/47 that hasn't been shot yet,
I picked that up last year before Thanksgiving. So now I have 7x57's, a 7.65x53, & 8x57's.
Still looking for a Husky in 9.3x62 to round out the family. Pics soon to follow!!:D

Can't wait to see them!

Get some Norma factory ammo and have a lot of fun.
If you are planning to reload, Hornady bullets (.312) gave better results than Sierra (.311)

Congrats, waiting to see it

Pics as promised, mfg'd in 1911 with a bore that looks like the day it was born, wood is not bad either, (but not matching) :(
it's chambered in the 100+ year old 7.65x53 Mauser, kind of a 308's Grand-Dad, cleaned out the cosmoline today, it's ready to go!!

It is a beauty !!!!
Stock looks great.....
I am from Argentina and even here you donnot cross with one in such a good condition us yours every day.
I wonder if you after the 9,3 x 62 go for a Swedish in 6,5 x 55 ?????

mausers 003.jpgI'll be taking the new girl out tomorrow with some friends,
aka M24/47, that I have never shot before and my 1893 Spanish Carbine.
There is snow in the forecast should be fun!!

Well in all the excitement I forgot the camera, But the shooting was awesome!
shooting 180grn .311" Prvi Partizan ammo in the .312" (slugged it) bore wasn't too bad.
1-1/2" group @ 50 yards 1-1/2" high dead centered and 4-1/2" group about 3-1/2" right
@ 100 yards, that's no bench, no sling, shooting off hand.
The surprise sleeper of the bunch was the M24/47 putting 3 out of 5 into 2" @ 100 with
a 1907 style sling, off hand, and all 5 into 3". Great Day !!

A good video about the 1891 model, sweet gun with a lot of simplicity and not as heavy as the 1909 model.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
