The .405 in a Ruger #1 is a terrific combo! I have a stainless one or I'd be very interested. Good luck!

I too had one and it shot great, but have a model '95 Win in that cal now and one .405 is enough for anyone!

I don't know, Scott...I also have a lightly customized '95 that I love!

I have an original Winchester 1895 TD Deluxe, hence one reason I don't NEED the Ruger #1 anymore. Another reason is that I would like to have a magazine rifle versus a single shot, especially if I get a chance at the 'Big 5' some day. I do hope someone will enjoy it as much as I did, especially when I was doing the load work ups for the data I created.

You sir are very wrong, you need at least 3, 4 would be better.

Well I cant be right all the time I guess.:p:D:eek::rolleyes:

The wood on this #1 sure is nice! Glad it found a new home!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
