I have a friend living in Mozambique, and i will visit him next June 2011. He is making the arrangements so probably we will be able to go hunting some days, in Sofala province.

I am interested in bufalo, hipo and sable. Anyone could give me some advide ??? How is the weather in that part of the year ??? It seems is a really thick bush are... isnï½´t it ??? Close shots ???

Any advice about rifle import process ???? Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks !!!

Jose

June is a bit early with thick bush and plenty of ground water making hunting quite hard.
One consolation is the weather is nice in June/ July.

Hi Jose,
Yes, nice weather then, not too hot.
Rifle import is easy. Just needs all the details, invitation letter from the outfitter and they will get the permit for you.
Depends on where you are flying from, but SA Airlink take firearms and fly to Maputo, Biera and Tete.
I have some Buff and Sable hunts for 2012 if you need anything , just ask, send me your email addresss and I will give you some ideas.
Bush will be quite thick in June and Sable especially, will not be easy, but we always make a plan !
All best
Tony

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
