Ive heard it said about the movie "The ghost and the darkness" that it is unrealistic to think a male lion could yank a grown man out of a tent. I'd like to label this "exhibit A".
Somewhere I read that a leopard can carry three times its weight into a tree. That'd be like me carrying 675 lbs of dinner up into the branches. Clearly, pound for pound, the big cats are much, much stronger than we.
Impressive, but the cat just held the body builders off. The rope went through a 90' turn and that makes it far more difficult to pull one direction or another. I would think it might be a little different if they were pulling straight. Lionesses are hella tough though and a male like the ones from Tsavo would have been far stronger.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,
