I traded one project for another. I traded my 8 bore single shot project for a mostly complete 505 Gibbs project with another member of AH.

This rifle is built on a Olympic BKK01 action, fitted into a CZ 550 stock, NECG irons. Has a red dot on it as my primary optic. It has scope rings that fit the pattern milled into both bridges. However I have no intention of mounting a scope on this rifle.

Time for us to do shooting I’d say! Nice work!!

That is a serious shooting iron..

I am going to start off with a 525 at 2150 and work my way up to 2300ISH. and 600gr at 2100-2150 range.
Will see what the rifle shoots best and what the sweet spot is on accuracy vs speed.

@AZDAVE
Looks good mate but what happened to the stock. Is that an extension or just a BIG recoil pad.

Delicious perfection for D/G

Made it to the range yesterday. Loaded up a few rounds in the 500 NE level. 2150fps. toook a couple rounds to get the red dot on target and the last 2 off sticks at 55 meters were 3/4 in apart. So now it is time to work the loads up a bit. I was using the reloading data from CEB and this is a starting level load. Very pleased with the first range session and the recoil was moderate and very easy to shoot.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
