Good Day Everyone
I want to put my Coggswell & Harrison .375H7H Safari Rifle with Leupold VX Scope Mounted up for Sale. I want to find a fair price for it.
Can someone help me with an appraisal please?

Don’t see many cogswell bolt rifles around - I would estimate it to be $2,500 as it sits assuming there are no condition issues. Doesn’t look to have much higher-end embellishments but with better pictures could make a bit better guess.
I think a year or two ago it would have brought $1,000-$1,500 more

Welcome aboard gvdhunter.

In the age of internet scams, especially for those whose first post is a sale, it might be best if you were to tell us about yourself...if/what/where you hunt and such, in order to create a bit of trust as some members here have been duped in the past. It's unfortunate that those situations created some caution toward new members selling items, but that is the reality.

Tell us more about the gun as well please. It's age, use, barrel length, LOP, approximate round count, maybe some clearer pics of the action and a couple of the barrel, etc. This might help you get some better advice as to it's worth.

Made until 1952. The only turn off is the "Light Alloy" aluminum magazine. Many of these rifles have noticeable dents inside the magazine walls, due to the noses of steel jacketed FMJ solids repeatedly slamming into them during recoil over the years.

@Berettaco is correct. $2200-2500 is the right price for a rifle of this make and caliber... assuming that there are no issues with it. Be sure to check the magazine walls.

I used one in .404 Jeffery (loaded with RWS 400Gr steel jacketed FMJ solids) to take a hippo on land. But the one I used, was built on a Pattern 14 Enfield action.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
