Hi all,

I just acquired 4 more bulls on quota to be hunted as non exportable trophies, in the Salambala conservancy in the Caprivi. My company, Ndumo Safaris will do the outfitting, and myself or Fred Bezuidenhout will most likely be the PH assigned to the hunt.

This hunts are sold as an elephant hunting experience, and the tusks and skin goes to the government, so no part is available for export or local hunters to keep. In the spirit of this, we will target non trophy bulls, in other words, broken tusk bulls, bulls with weak genetics, or occational problem bulls.

Normal price on thses hunts are as follows:
7 day hunting @ US$ 1250/ day = 8 750
2 travel days @ US$ 125/ day = 250
trophy fee for elephant = 5000
Total: US$ 14 000

Discounted price for this hunt, US$ 12 000.
50% deposit secures date and quota, 50% payable at end of hunt.

Open dates currently:
now to 26 April
23 May to 30 May
1-14 June
20-31 Aug
1-22 Oct
November
(some other dates we can possibly make a plan with, so please talk to me if this interest you.)

If you finish early, you are welcome to stay in camp on the Zambezi, and fish for tigers or bream (depending on boat and camp availability, and your cost will just be the fuel for the boat.)

Accomodation will be in tented camp in hunting area, and includes all meals, soft drinks, bottled water, beer, wine and liquor (local) in moderation.

Some examples of such hunts:

Jaco, I wish clean tripe was not so scarce up here, I would make it more often if it was available up here. I normally have to fly a clean one in from Windhoek, as the ones that you can buy here, neither of us would want to eat!

Tripe? Who eats tripe any more? :) Used to see it when I was a kid but no more along with kidneys and tongue. The local Navajo Indians deep fry sheep brains but then they eat old smelly sheep also :) Merino sheep no less

Has anyone ever thought of making molds of tusks from non-exportable bulls for display back home? It's not hard to do and it might be something to offer a client. Fake tusks might be better than no tusks.

Cliffy we have done it in the past. They look very real, and most people will have difficulty spotting the difference between real ones and fake ones form more than 3 feet. And it is relatively cheap, around what dip and pack would cost on a trophy bull.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
