    9.3x62mm vs. .375 H&H Mag

Cutting thrugh the chafe, I doubt if anyone can tell the difference in killing effect between a 375 H&H and a 9,3x62, Ive used both a good deal, they worked the same as any African PH will tell you or so it seemed to me..the rest is just in your mind..

One gun or two? On safari

Back in the day when I spent 30 to 60 days in various camps, I took my 404 or 416 and even a 9,3x62 or 375 H&H, they all worked just fine for PG and DG, a big bore with tough bullets kept off the heavy bones does not ruin much meat, and sometimes due to tough jackets the game will make a long...

Pulling and replacing bullets - what needs to be done?

I pull the pin in my RCBS die and then neck size id needed, on rare occasions it's not required. Whatever you do run the case through the chamber before you do them all is good advise.

9.3 X62 brass and bullet powder recommendation

Interlocks are not bonded, they are interlocked by the jacket into the lead and are a decent bullet, but not generally considered a premium or super premium bullet. I like them for most hunting.

Need help, Load discrepancy Swift vs Hodgdon

Not to mention that the old service milsurp 4831 will give highest velocity at much less pressure than anythinh on todays market, the stuff Jack O'Conner shot 63 gr. in his 270. I have about 20 or so of that good stuff. left over from a SS 150 lb keg I bought 40 years ago and its still fresh and...

    165 or 180 grain bullet for 3006

I prefer the 150 for deer and such, and the 180s for larger stuff and I really like the 200 gr Accubond or partition for elk and for use in Africa. I see the 165 as neither fish nor fowl but I can push a 180 at the same velocity and see no reason for its use for my part..

    Reloading for Dangerous Game

    Reloading for Dangerous Game

I learned to reload in the 1950s, and hunted all DG with my reloads over the years, not not a single problem, talking rifles, pistols not so good!

    9.3X64 load data

I played with both some years ago and I got about 100 to a 150 fps advantage depending on the load, with most loads at max, with both calibers, and could not tell any difference on a Cape Buffalo or Idaho elk. I opted for the great 9.3x62 as to accuracy it seemed, less felt recoil, and...

    .35 Whelen & CFE223 - magnum or standard primer?

I know what the experts say, but be damned if i can tell any difference between the two, My chrono graph shows about 100 fps or less in extreme cases and little or no differeccd in POI in most cases but that varies as to caliber..Over all I get better accuracy with my favorite primer the FC210...

404 jeff woodleigh bullets expansion velocity?

I have shot a number of buffalo with both the 450-400 double at 2125 fps, and I've always loaded my 404s at 2400 fps, with 93 grs of H4831. Both calibers worked quite well with Woodleigh bullets. I also field tested Geoff's 450 gr 404 RN and PPs and its a favorite bullet of mine in the 404...

    338 Winchester Magnum

Great caliber, due to circumstance my PH said use the 338 with a scope and shoot through that hole in the bush, I did and the bull ran 75 yards and stopped, standing straddle legged spewing blood out nose, and ran again as I approached, and I rolled him in a summersault with my 450-400 I've...

    New Lipseys M77 .35 Whelen

I have the African still in the box, but passed the test with a 5 shot group in 9,3x62, and back in the box, My right hand and age is getting worse at handleing recoil, so I will probably put it on the classifieds, Its a classic..Im having a REm 721 rebored to a whelen, hope it works but I can...

    New "classic" .318 Westley Richards?

I recently sold my original 318 WR as they are out of sight on the market..I found out if you take the nostalgia out of the scenario and load 250 gr bullets in our old 30-06 you gotta 318 WR with more penetration it seems! oh well it is what it is! :)
