I’ve used the .220 and .22-250 extensively on prairie dogs. At 400, I don’t find any practical advantage of one over the other. The Swift has slightly less holdover, but you’re holding over with both of them. Wind drift seems very similar. The trigger probably plays a more significant role in a hit at 400+ than 200 fps give or take. I bet you’ll love the .22-250AI. Personally I wouldn’t ream out a good shooting rig to get one, but if you’re starting from scratch it’s as good as the others.
I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
