    I can't remember ever hunting in the Eastern Cape, Transvaal, Northern Transvaal or Natal without a knife on my belt back then - So I guess I wouldn't hunt in the New South Africa without one either....lol Pack a decent knife with you, it's annoying to have to borrow a blunt one when you need it.

    Owned a spot once -took it with us to SA - sent a few messages back to Canada, non ever came through - sold it and baught an Delrome inreach- never looked back - had it in Europe, Middle East and SA - two way communication (text) all the time, friends and family tracked us - I'm a believer!

    New Guy going to hunt Africa for the first time

    The Lady Grey area is really nice, I hunted Mountain Reedbuck and Vaal Rhebuck in that vicinity many years ago, it was a great (hard) hunt - the whole of the Eastern Cape is awesome - I really miss it - I'm sure you will have a great time. I'll be back there next year, cant wait.

    Depends on what you are hunting - half a dozen springbuck is easily do-able in an afternoon, can't say he same about Nyala, Black Wildebeest or even bush buck. I like to hunt two species in 7 days - that's it - come back next year and do the same again. Might think about throwing a little...

    What Have You Killed with the 7x57

    My Musgrave in 7x57 killed countless Kudu, Impala, springbuck , bush buck and wildebeest. Sold it when we immigrated - still regret that! Today I have a 7x64 to fill that role, and I really like that calibre.
