Discounted Rhino Hunt

very cool! I hope we get to see some pictures and a story about it!

I have a feeling the hunts will be sold out soon.

Wow that is interesting.... Never thought much about hunting a rhino... Figured it was just something not really do-able this day in age.... Difficult to get excited about a dart hunt, and would not want to contribute to the downfall of the species... But this sounds like something that makes a lot of sense and actually seems like a good management tool. And certainly understandable that the owner needs a value out of the animals if he is to maintain a herd.

How old are these bulls? Do you have any pictures to share here or email? What country is it in and are they importable? How big a hassle is it as far as paperwork, etc.?

What size is the property and have they been in there a while? Is it only the huntable ones in the there or is there a herd? Other species in with them? Thin bush like a photo camp and easy to find or?

Is there a measurement of the base circumference of the horn? Any way that they kept track of how much horn has been harvested over the years (or was it only cut off once?).... I assume you can easily get a replica horn mounted by a taxidermist.... And I am sure they will make it as big as one wants... But I would prefer it to be as accurate as possible to what the animal actually would have had.

Hi,

Very interested on the deal. Please send me PM with all the info.
Regards,

Luis

Very good deal this.

You can always ask the Taxidermy to make the mounts horn nice and long (what it was prior to being cut) ;)

For me, this would result in two mounts...... I am a skull fanatic so I'd have to utilize the skull and have a horn replacement done and then of course you can't spend 35k without mounting it as well. (Kind of like warthogs - always results in two trophies).

I wish my rich uncle would hurry up and get the hell out of the poor house so that he can leave me all his money!

Yeah..... I just sit back and laugh when I hear about Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Buffalo, etc.... being "farm animals, domesticated or pets". I'm like suuuuuuuuuure they are. Go feed one.

That was a cool video, thanks for posting it!

Hey anybody got pictures of rhino taxidermy? What are the best options for mounting one... James hope you don't mind the slight hijack, but thought there might be a more captive participant base here than in Taxidermy?

I'd get with @Artistryofwildlife. He has an awesome operation & will shoot you straight. Best of luck!

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
