ZIMBABWE: Has Anyone Hunted With DAVE LANGERMAN Safaris?

I haven't but there was an excellent hunt report by a gentleman here who got 3 non trophy cape buffalo with him and spoke super highly of the experience. Hopefully he will chime in on this thread.

I have not.

However I’ve corresponded with him and he’s very responsive and open in discussing his areas. He was more than willing to share knowledge about appropriate guns and loads.

I’ve also several numerous videos that he is in and he’s always communicative to the client and very professional.

Combine that with his reputation and he’s on my short list for my next booking.

Hardly a better man on this earth than Dave! I had the hunt of a lifetime with him and what a fun guy to be around. Make certain to ask him about his tracker/driver, Tactical Tom and the tainted tally-whacker!

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. In visiting with him on the phone that was the impression I got from him.

I hunted with him in Niassa in 2024. It was a 21 day hunt where I shot lion, leopard, 3 buff and an array of plains game. Dave is a great PH and a lot fun to be around. He has actually become a good friend…you won’t regret booking with him.
Thanks for your input, in talking with him on the phone , he seemed like a fun guy to hunt with. That is a huge part of any safari. My last safari in Mozambique with Tsala was a really good hunt, but if you can imagine, it honestly was not much fun at all because of the people. I had such a wonderful time hunting in Botswana the year before with Allen Becker and his crew and was very disappointed with how things went in that regard on my last hunt, so I am looking forward to hunting with such a great and fun guy as Dave.

I have known Dave since 2009 when I went to Niassa for Leopard Buffalo and plains game. I hunted with a different PH but spent time with the then young PH. We have kept in touch ever since and consider him a friend. Dave is Zimbabwean by birth, a Zim licensed PH and absolutely first rate. I plan on talking with him at the shows for another Niassa safari. I’m going in March on my 14th safari but the first time to Uganda. He is a top rate PH in my book.

Awesome! I am looking forward to hunting with Dave. Thanks for responding!

Interesting comments by you…you took exceptional buffalo, elephant and a kudu and I know the Tsala family well so I am really struggling to understand the shade you are throwing their way…this is the second time you have done that and I have to admit it bothers me…having read your report twice you did not get your leopard but your other animals were exceptional so what is your beef

I never complained about not getting a leopard, I simply said I did not get one. I saw very little leopard sing in 18 days of hunting , so I am simply saying that if someone wants to hunt leopard, I would look elsewhere . If you are goin g to do a hunt , stack the odds in your favor as much as possible and go with someone who has an excellent track record on leopards. They are a tricky animal to hunt and some guys are better at it than others. Just giving my honest opinion .

I said the hunting was great. I'm not trying to bash them, just honestly telling it like it is. I call a spade a spade. There were other things that I felt could have been better but did not publicly mention them, because maybe my expectations might be much different than what others would have. Maybe it was just me, maybe someone else would think nothing of those things, or maybe they would. So I did not make them public. If you want the whole story, PM me with your phone number and I will explain, but I don't want to do it in public.

That sounds like a hell of a hunt!

I hunted with John Sharp in the BVC in Zim and a buddy of mine hunted with Dave Langerman. You will be in good hands with Dave and have a great hunt.

He admits it was a good hunt but obviously he was left disappointed by something(s), and it wasn’t because of the trophy quality on what he did shoot. What makes a good hunt for him is probably different than what you look for. You can’t make everyone happy.

Personally I’d rather he be open and honest about his opinion so anyone considering booking with the outfitter can reach out to him and see what/why he was left wanting a little more. This will let the perspective hunter make a decision for themselves after hearing from the outfitter and other hunters, including him.
