Hello All,

This is it: Syncerus Caffer, the most prestigious big game for me and Yannick, my fellow hunter, is on the top of our 10 day safari planned for May 2020 in Zimbabwe, Chete Safari Area near Kariba lake.

The outfitter is Sable Safari, partner of JKO Hunting Safaris.

After 3 safaris, 2 in South Africa for plain games, and one in Australia for water buffalo, I am ready for a more rugged destination -Zimbabwe- and tougher game -Caffer-.

I reported the 3 safaris here on AfricaHunting:

2013, South Africa, Eastern Ca (gemsbok, Kudu, Impala, blesbok, ostrich)
https://www.africahunting.com/threa...7-and-pierre-antoine-14-in-august-2013.11623/

2014, South Africa, Eastern Cape (waterbuck, Cape eland, black-headed wildebeest, red hartebeest, mountain redbuck, blesbok)
https://www.africahunting.com/threads/south-africa-2nd-family-safari-report.16617/

2015, Australia, Northern Territories (water buffalo, hogs)
https://www.africahunting.com/threa...tralia-top-end-herve-marie-august-2015.22001/

Yannick hunted 3 times in Africa:
2016, Namibia (gemsbok, kudou, warthog, impala, Cape eland, springbuck, blesbok)
2017, Burkina Faso (West African savanna buffalo, blesbuck, Koba, warthog)
2018, Bénin (Bushbuck, warthog)

I will document here the planning, the training, the safari, and the memories, and post nice photos too of our endeavour!

See you there!!

Hervé and Yannick

Looking forward to your report. Did you book this through our friend Matthieu?

Did you book this through our friend Matthieu?

Yes Indeed! Yannick had booked with Mathieu, and while we were chatting on my first wildboar taken with bow and arrow, he wrote that he had booked a safari with Mathieu, for a caffer in Zimbabwe.
And he wrote : "would you be interested to come with me?" ha ha ha.
2 days after, it was decided !

I will be joining @cpr0312 in a little over 2 weeks in Chete with Jacques Spamer of JKO Safaris. Our safari will be after a mixed bag of dangerous game as well as whatever Africa happens to offer us for plains game (bushbuck, zebra, kudu, bushpig, grysbok). And we’re also both after spotted hyena- which Chete happens to be somewhat known for. It is very dry there right now (and hot) and apparently the game will be going to water (Lake Kariba). We also hope to get some tiger fishing in! Anyway, please follow @cpr0312 and my thread (I’ve already started one and he’s about to) to see pics and our progress.

well kick my butt and call me shorty I shoud have know that, thought maybe it was something exotic,

I’m looking forward to your hunt report!

Looking for shipping advice. I will be hunting in Limpopo in March, and was wanting to know a general idea of shipping costs to return my mounts to the US when completed. Air or sea? Only plains game hunting.

Good morning 7MAG. I have a NEW, never mounted, Leupold M8-4X Extended Eye Relief scope that I will sell you for $325 shipped to you. I was a Leupold rep for 12 years and this was always our preferred mounting for a lever gun, scout rifle style.

You’ve got an interesting screen name. Will the Thrill provided lots of great times for me as a lifelong Giants fan. Even though I never met him, a number of buddies either duck hunted or shared a dugout with him. He’s a great guy according to those guys. Cool screen name and if that’s your real name, it’s a great one.
