I have a rare Zeiss Diavari ZM 1,5-6x42 MC I’d like to sell. My Zeiss has the integrated zeiss rail currently mounted on a quick detach innogun picatinny innomount ($300+ mount). It’s an awesome scope with an awesome mount, but most my rifles are Sakos, and there’s no good way to put a picatinny rail on a Sako. I need something I can put in traditional rings. Zeiss is in good shape overall but has a little wear on the rubber magnifier ring and one spot on the left side…you can see it in the pictures. The glass looks great. Scope has a #4 FFP reticle. It comes with rubber zeiss scope cover but I don't have the original box. I’ll trade the scope and mount for a Leupold VX5HD or something comparable or sell outright for $800.

Put this on a rifle and realized the reticle is canted! I’m taking it off the market and sending it back to zeiss. Hopefully they’ll fix it…we’ll see.

They will fix it. Most scope companies have been very easy to work with in my experience.

Let me know when it's back, I am interested

Well, the email I received from Zeiss says they can’t fix it but they’re going to replace it with a new V4 4-16x44. I find that an odd replacement given the size and power of the old scope, but the V4 is a very good scope and maybe I can find some use for it. Looks like they stopped making the V4 in low power, so I guess is the closest thing they had in stock.
Still, I have no complaints about their warranty service. I sent them an old scope I had bought second hand and they’re replacing it free of charge. Kudos to Zeiss.

I still have that mount. If anyone is interested, make me an offer.

I know this irrelevant now that you're getting a new scope but might help you or someone else in the future.

A number of manufacturers make Picatinny rails for Sako including Era-Tac, EGW and Contessa to name a few.

There is also an option for mounting rail scopes on Sakos

A mate of mine has a Zeiss with the intergraded rail. He is interested in your scope mount.

Pls pm me price and if you’re willing to sell it.

Rudi

Thanks! I was aware of the contessa mount but adding a rail to the already existing rail + the QD mount would’ve raised the scope much too high above the bore for my taste, and the rail would’ve covered up the iron sights, defeating the purpose of the QD mount. I was not aware of some of those other options. I’ll keep them in mind next time I have to scope a sako. I’ve been happy with Leupold rings but it’s good to have more options.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
