Zeiss diavari question

Hoping someone can answer this one for me. I am wondering if someone that has a zeiss diavari 3-9x36 could tell me the distance from the bell of the scope to the closest possible place to mount a ring. I have a mauser with an express sight that is making it extremely difficult to mount a scope.

Measured a 3-9 36. distance b etween adjustment knobs and bell is 2.6", the bell flaring i1.3" and the parallel portion of the bell is 1.65". The diameter of the bell is 1.75". The length of the 1" portion of the tube is 5.4". I can draw a picture and note the various measurements if that would help.

That would be fantastic. This is the maid issue is that I need something with a shorter bell than this

The bell measures a shown, 2.95"; so sounds like this scope won't work.

Hmm I might have to go with something without a bell on it. Or possibly some sort of offset mount. Thanks for checking that out for me.

There are other scopes that have smaller bells that may work for you- Leupold 2-7x come to mind, but they aren't the optical quality of the scopes mentioned, but there may be scopes that aren't in the recent craze of 50+mm diameter bells.

That's a good point. I'm going to get a set of talleys on it and then I'll see what I can squeeze on. I hate to lose the neat 3 leaf sight on this gun
