Good looking trophies. Deplorable import "tax" on ammo. Great way to encourage hunters to look elsewhere. Does any other country do that??

I agree. I do feel sorry for the outfitters who have to deal with gov't. imposed crap like this. When you consider the overall cost of a safari it isn't that much, but I find it particularly galling. Just another case of African countries fleecing the visiting hunters. I've been on 14 African hunts but have never set foot in Zambia. On a plains game hunt in Botswana I was charged an import tax of my ammo but it was a relatively small amount. It was around $20-$25 if I recall correctly. That was on 40 rounds each of .338 Win and .375 H&H ammo. The tax was not in dollars but their local currency. I had to exchange some US currency for the local money to pay the tax so I might have benefited from the exchange rate.

There is currently no ammo import tax.
It has been a hot topic for a while and the cause of a lot of irritation between clients/operators and the Gov.

Great! I wonder why the PH still advertises that there is a tax? May consider Zambia now.

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
