This is why I like opinion posts because you can never be wrong. There's nothing wrong with the 375 Weatherby; Mr. Weatherby merely improved the H&H velocity capability and put it in his own rifle with his proprietary double radius shoulder. Weatherby as a brand has always been legitimate and their goal has always been to push velocity by caliber to maximum. I would NOT choose a 375 Weatherby because I could shoot 375 H&H ammo through it in a pinch; that is merely a convenient side effect. I can't think of a reason to purchase or build a new 375 Weatherby; Weatherby doesn't even offer it as a choice in their new rifles. One is better off with a Ruger, H&H, or 378 Weatherby if one really wants to push it. Again, for the current owner OR the prospective owner of a used 375 Weatherby who handloads, by all means go for it.
