The Yellowstone rivers flows north, out of the park and up to Livingston, MT, then turns east and flows to Fort Peck Reservoir. I have elk hunted for 20+ years in Park County, right around Pray, MT. (about half way between the Park and Livingston).

The video is pretty incredible.

2013 saw some of the same caliber flooding up here.
I hope everyone stayed safe.
It will take quite a while to recover from the damage from those floods.
The power of water is incredible. One example.

Where is Lewis and/or Clark when you need them?

Rechecking my geography (before somebody points out my error), the Yellowstone does not flow into Fort Peck Reservoir. It flows into the Missouri River, downstream of the reservoir.

We now return to our regular programming.

One of our friends were there and had to be evacuated. Millions are going to have their vacations canceled and lots of local businesses affected. Hopefully enough folks keep their reservations and visit Cody, West, and Gardiner as well as the national forest. Crazy

I grew up next door. I suspect that is going to hurt the fishing season too.

I caught a few brownies in the river on my 3 trips, but the shear quantity of rainbows and cutthroats are in the lakes. I always loved catching the graylings, my favorite

The single most powerful natural force on the planet.

And I was planning to be there in late July.

Guess, I'll do something else.

Looked on the internet for pictures of the upper and lower falls a couple of days ago but couldn't find any. They had to look pretty amazing the first of the week.
