I’ve never seen this exact photo anywhere before. I saw it as a poster this evening at a local brew pub. Name the plane and event that is about to happen during WW2. The first “I know” winner gets an AH coffee, beer mug or hat as soon as AH makes them available again for purchase. LOL

A B25, the Doolittle bombing of Tokyo.

Looks like it has the 50 cals removed to save weight….

One of the local and closest high school to this brew pub is named Billy Mitchell and their sports teams are the Marauders. They have a nice display of WW2 aircraft photos and Billy Mitchell’s history memorabilia.

The plane was #40-2344, Jimmy Doolittle didn't name his plane

It was an extremely daring and provocative mission for all of those brave pilots and crew of the B25 Marauders. I guess all sixteen B25s were lost but 69 of the 80 crewman survived.

Heard this story on some documentary on the Doolittle raid:

During the Doolittle Raid launch from the USS Hornet on April 18, 1942, a U.S. Navy sailor named Robert W. "Bob" Wall was struck by a spinning propeller and severely injured, resulting in the loss of his left arm, but he was not killed in the incident.
The accident occurred as the 16th (and final) B-25 bomber was being moved into position on the slippery, rough flight deck in stormy weather. Wall was part of the deck crew helping to restrain the aircraft when the ship's bow plunged down a wave, causing the bomber's nose wheel to jump up and propel Wall into the spinning blade.

Flight decks have always been very, very hazardous. Blown off the deck into the sea. Sucked into jet engines. Catapult and tail hook cables.

Yep...the plane was likely made in Windsor Ontario

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
