:) Dear Outfitters,

My name is Sandy Bowman and I am the proud mother of Army Specialist Ryan Bowman. I am writing to many different outfitters to see what they would be willing to do for our wounded soldiers. My son is one of many soldiers stationed at the Wounded Warrior Unit/Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) at Fort Meade, Maryland. My son is one of many who are avid outdoorsman (hunting and fishing). These hunting and fishing trips do amazing wonders in their recovery process by lifting spirits. Many of them suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorder, not only traumatic, but mental and emotional injuries.

It’s been known in the past of outfitters to providing WTU’s exclusive hunting and fishing trips for the soldiers and their families. Those outfitters interested in donating your services to the WTU Fort Meade, Maryland please email me if anyone is interested in donating a hunt and I will give you the contact information for the Family Readiness Support Coordinator.

God Bless,

Sandy Bowman

Mother of WTU Soldier

Hi, my name is Bobby. I am also a Wounded OIF Army Soldier (MP). I have been under treatment at Brooke Army Hospital, San Antonio, since being blown up in 2006. I was severely burned by a suicide truck bomber with @100 propane tanks while operating an Iraqi Police station.
I want to say thank you for being such a support for your son. I know I could not have lived through this without family and friends. I also share the same love for hunting and fishing. Unfortunately, here in TX, you have to pay to hunt. I try to get hunts donated to my son and do not worry about myself either. I have missed so much with his life I have to find ways to keep those connections to things that my father shared with me and hunting has been that. Unfortunately, with the recession, finding a hunt is tough and almost impossible. We are not from TX originally but now call it home. I have not hunted but 2 times in the past 18years of my life. The Army took up all my years and took me away from those simple things that are so important in life to share with family. I applaud you for your efforts, and would like to share some info with you. Can you pls email me at bobehrig@juno.com. I have a few leads you might like.
And, if anyone might have any leads for me, they would be greatly appreciated by my son and myself. Thanks.
