that makes 3 of us I was just going thru my stash of 404J to see if needed more softs and i guess a long time ago, in a land far away, I was getting great deals on Hornady 404J solids, count 1700. I guess I was thinking practice and the Jeffery supply was waning...

I know there isn't as much as some folks were hoping. It's amazing to me that Geoff is still making bullets at all. I'm sure it's not as fast going as it used to be. We also are working hard to get more brass options from Sweden with some fan favorites on order. ETA is still several months out.

Im not Bill and I dont speak for Geoff either. Im just an Aussie user of Woodleigh bullets passing on what I know.

Geoff and his immediate circle didnt begin rebuilding immediately. There was initially some speculation that Geoff might just retire. It took some months before we got confirmation that Geoff was rebuilding. It was some time in 2022 that the rebuild work began, and by 2023 things were looking positive for production to begin. Through 2024 some production runs started, and by late 2025 we had seen many of the old Woodleigh offerings produced. Dealers in Australia have a lot of the bullets in stock now, but its still on going. Some of the less common bullets have not gone into production yet. I believe .425 (435) bullets are one example of this. So in short, Woodleigh has come a long way, but is still working through the process.

And I cant give any insight into how this impacts on the import/export process of shipping stock from AU to US.

Inquiry regarding Woodleigh .416 cal offerings. Woodleigh lists a couple of .416 cal offerings in “.416 Remington” and a few in “.416 Rigby” in various grain options. I’m looking for bullets for .416 Taylor. I assume the Woodleigh .416 Remington, not Rigby, bullets would be most appropriate. Can anyone provide guidance on the best .416 diameter Woodleigh bullet for a .416 Taylor?

Just a quick mention, also not far from me is the Bertram Brass/bullet factory.

These guys are super helpful in obtaining brass/projectiles that are otherwise hard to find, and they are extremely well priced.

They sell no-frills, non-bonded softpoint projectiles that are great for deer or for practice.

As I said above, they are just a simple round-nose softpoint, but I used them in my 425 Express to help get it sorted, and they were fine.
The remaining rounds I'm going to save for deer.

Just another option for all of you, and as previously mentioned, I'm happy to help.

I was about to suggest Bertram Brass might be able to help. Especially with older cartridge brass as they make it.

actually, the 410Rigby cannelure location works perfect for the 416Taylor. I seat to the top of the cannelure and get 3.301" OAL. The top is the 410, btm is the 416 rem.

The rem is a tad shorter
