Gordon....I repeat what I said before, "Would I hunt with a female PH? It would depend on her qualifications, experience, and the area I was hunting." I don't give a rat's behind about her popularity with the rest of the world. There are places here in the U.S. that even a Marine would not wander. Let alone a woman. And I am sure that is true for most, if not all, countries in this world. Africa is not exclusive in its danger zones.

I am fortunate to hunt through personal friends of mine who have hunted different African countries for many years (30 to 40). And who have developed close friendships with the people of those countries. And yes....they are men. It is these two gentlemen that I trust, even with my life. If they have a female PH they recommend I hunt through, then a hunting we will go. It all boils down to a cost/benefit analysis and the risk someone is willing to take. You can only warn people. But then, I've taken to jumping out of planes. With a parachute of course. ;)

Walking pray, I do respect what you say and it's logical... I read some very terrible posts created from some antihunting people this morning with reference to the tragical dead of Ian Gibson, and I decide that it's better to standing on broad front both woman and men against those people instead of arguing this rather irrelevant subject.

The site and the comments that shocked me was on : http://africageographic.com/blog/hunter-killed-bull-elephant-musth/

I put a couple of comments there, and it's good to visit the page.

Best wishes, Gordon

hi - I totally agree, hunters have to unite and be diplomatic to the general public, most people out there have no understanding of the industry and the conservation that goes hand in hand with it. Education is the key and all of us need to be more pro-active in the way we promote hunting, don't assume the public understand the ethics we have and that without hunting the wildlife industry would come to a halt. Most people assume that photographic tourism protects and pays for wildlife. Takeri Private Reserve would not be there without hunting ....and neither would all our wildlife! Over the past five years we have had all the little game come back. honey badgers, porcupine, blue duiker etc.. and go out 5 km away from the area we protect and you would be lucky to find a frog!
shocking to see how people reacted to Ian's death.

I have had discussions with a few anti's. The minute you give them the facts their argument disappears as most of them don't know Shit from First Base.

Hi Luke. Just saw your message. I am in Dillingham, and have been since 2002. I took an elementary teaching gig here, taught here five years, and then got a job with Togiak National Wildlife Refuge as their education and outreach specialist. Recently I just got a promotion and now I'm the Visitor Services Manager. Prior to DLG I spent 6 years teaching for Lake and Pen in Nondalton.
