Nope, just the action was made available for purchase to me. I had never considered this future need, but I bet they will be spaced at a "common/standard" distance. If you would like, I can put calipers on the holes for you.

Safety appears to be missing. Not a big deal as they are available from many sources. I also see mag boxes and trigger guard up on ebay frequently. But I'm wondering if it's had a cock on opening modification? That would make it slightly more sellable. Someone did a nice job cleaning off the rear sight ears and plugging the hole. That's always the biggest obstacle to building on 1917/P14. This is a great ultra-strong project action at a good price. Good to see the barrel removed. They can be a real SOB to pull off.

The safety and other parts missing are not a big deal at all. What may be a bigger deal is that it appears to be altered and contoured where the safety goes, so that a builder may not be able to use a 1917 safety, would require a different safety such as a 70 style on bolt.

Sorry guys - been in the deer stand for 4 hours...

I am gonna call it as converted to cock on opening as it requires some effort to open the bolt. Without the trigger and bottom metal it is hard for me to be certain.

Outside to outside hole distance on the front base holes measures .611, inside to inside measures .380", .231" screw hole

O to O distance on the back screw holes measures .710", I to I is .489" - .221" screw hole

I used calipers, not a gauge.

Back to the top at $200.

Trigger and bottom metal not necessary. Does the cocking piece come back as bolt is opened?

Perhaps receiver has been altered to allow for a 2-position trigger block safety? Like what comes with a Timney DeLuxe trigger.

Edit: Guess the trigger my be necessary to release firing pin?

Yes, cocking piece moves back when bolt lifted

Here is a 3 position safety that would work with this action. Your action is tempting me, but I do really like the Enfield safety and I believe this action would require a different safety as well as different stock inletting because of modifications to tang. I am currently building a .375 H&H and a 416 on Enfield actions. This action would be ideal for someone who prefers the m70 safety and doesn't mind the additional expense.

Need to move this - price drop to $200.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
